Under the aegis of the Indian Journalist Association, Sant Kabir Nagar unit, Uttar Pradesh, the organization’s 18th anniversary was celebrated by planting trees and cutting a cake at the Dak Bungalow, Menhdawal.
Journalists present at the event spread the message of environmental protection by planting trees and pledged to continue their struggle to protect the honor, safety, self-respect, and rights of journalists. The program discussed in detail the current challenges of journalism, the safety of journalists, the strength of the organization, and the responsibilities of journalists towards society and the nation. Speakers emphasized that journalists are not only a medium for disseminating news, but also play an important role in bringing public issues to the attention of the government and administration and raising public awareness as vigilant guardians of democracy.
National President Seraj Ahmad Quraishi, in his address, stated that journalism is a strong foundation of democracy. The organization will continue to fight tirelessly to protect the dignity, safety, and rights of journalists. He stated that the Indian Journalist Association’s objective is to unite journalists, make them aware of their rights, and protect the values of journalism. He stated that the organization’s 18-year journey has been one of struggle, organizational unity, and continuous efforts to protect journalists’ interests. He called on all journalists to strengthen impartial and fearless journalism while maintaining mutual unity and brotherhood.
National General Secretary Giriraj Singh stated that unity among journalists is their greatest strength. He emphasized that journalists should be vigilant about their rights as well as their duties. He emphasized the need to strengthen the organization from the village to the national level and to raise the issues of every journalist through the organization.
State Council Member Purvanchal, Dr. Bechan Prasad Yadav, said that environmental protection is the responsibility of the entire society today. Planting a tree is not just a responsibility towards nature, but also a foundation for a secure future for future generations. He urged journalists to highlight issues related to environmental and social concerns.
District President Surya Prakash Pandey, Advocate, presided over the program and stated that the Sant Kabir Nagar unit will work with full commitment to the interests of journalists. He stated that in addition to raising journalists’ issues in an organized manner, the organization will also ensure an active role in social welfare activities. Expressing gratitude to all journalists present, he called for further strengthening the organization’s unity.
District Vice President Birendra Mani Tripathi stated that impartiality, fearlessness, and responsibility are paramount in journalism. He emphasized that journalists should highlight issues of public interest without succumbing to any pressure.
District General Secretary Vikas Agrahari stated that the organization’s strength is possible only when every office bearer and member plays an active role in coordination with each other. He called for continued efforts at the organizational level to address journalists’ problems.
District Secretary Raj Kapoor Gautam stated that strengthening the organization at the grassroots level is essential to protect journalists’ interests. He urged all journalists to actively participate in the organization’s programs.
District Secretary Vasudev Yadav said that journalists play an important role in conveying the voice of society to the government and administration. Therefore, ensuring the safety and respect of journalists is essential for a democratic system.
District Council Member Ajay Kumar stated that journalism is a powerful medium for creating awareness in society. He expressed his resolve to continuously work for the interests of journalists through the organization.
District Council Member Mohammad Anas said that journalists should put aside their differences and work together for the interests of journalists. Only through organizational unity can the voice of journalists be strengthened.
District Council Member Prem Kumar said that highlighting social issues by linking journalism with public service is the need of the hour.
Tehsil Media Incharge Anuj Yadav said that the new generation of journalists should move forward by understanding the values, impartiality, and responsibility of journalism.
Tehsil Secretary D.K. Roshan said that environmental protection and the interests of journalists are both important social issues. He emphasized the need to continue the tree plantation campaign.
Block President Menhdawal Govind Ballabh Pandey said that journalists should be aware of their rights and also fulfill their responsibilities towards society.
Pradeep Kumar Mishra said that the organization’s 18th anniversary is an opportunity for journalists to introspect and move forward with renewed energy. He emphasized the need to strengthen journalist unity.
Dinesh Chaurasia said that the organization’s voice should remain strong regarding the problems and rights of journalists. He called for planting more trees for environmental protection.
During the program, the journalists present planted trees and took a collective pledge to continue their struggle for environmental protection, journalists’ unity, respect, security, self-respect, and rights. Speakers said that by continuing the 18-year journey of the Indian Journalist Association, the organization will be made stronger, more active, and more people-oriented.
